Manuel Castells awarded the Holberg Prize

Manuel Castells, who has been associated with a number of CHET projects since 2000, has been awarded the Holberg International Memorial Prize 2012. The prize was established by the Norwegian Parliament established in 2003 to fill the void of the Nobel in the social sciences and humanities and carries the same requirements and funding as the Nobel Prize. It is therefore widely considered to be the Nobel in the social sciences and humanities (excluding economics).

The CHET Board congratulates Manuel on this much deserved distinction, and we look forward to continued collaboration with him, particularly on CHET's Higher Education Research and Advocacy Network in Africa (HERANA) project.
