CHET advances the debate on differentiation in SA higher education

Higher Education South Africa (HESA) commissioned CHET to facilitate a historic workshop between the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET), the Department of Science and Technology (DST), and university vice-chancellors. The meeting resulted in a remarkable level of agreement amongst the usually discordant vice-chancellors.

HESA has now commissioned CHET to do a survey of all vice-chancellors about their particular institutional fears and hopes for differentiation.

The new acting Deputy Director General in DHET has engaged CHET about developing their position on differentiation, and CHET is able to facilitate an indirect conversation between the ministry and the university vice-chancellors.

CHET is also involved in drafting the higher education section of the National Development Plan (Vision 2025) for the National Planning Commission in the Presidency.
